September is the beginning of a new year for our organization and as we do every year, we will start with our Annual General Meeting.

The AGM gives the members of the Executive Committee an opportunity to tell you how they have worked for you for the past year.  It is a time for the Treasurer to report where your membership fees have been spent.  It is also an opportunity for you to give the Executive Committee your input about how the OBWA operates.

This year, concerns have been raised regarding the running of the election this past June, and the duration of a term of office.

Keeping the good operation of the OBWA foremost on the agenda, the Executive Committee has drafted changes to the OBWA By-laws that will address these issues.  A copy of the proposed bylaw amendments is attached.  Please read it carefully.  If you have questions or concerns about the proposed amendments, you will only have an opportunity to request discussion or clarification if you attend the meeting.  You can only vote if you attend the meeting.

It is important that everyone make a point of attending the AGM so that we have maximum input from you, the members.

Thank you for taking the time to read this information.
