Deborah Wagner to make presentation to the Orillia Business Women’s Association.
Deborah Wagner, Executive Officer Orillia & District Real Estate Board will be the guest speaker at the September meeting of the Orillia Business Women’s Association.
Deborah arrived in Orillia in July of 1989 and has proudly called The Sunshine City home ever since. She began her work experience at CFOR 1570 (AM Radio!) and The Orillia Sun Newspaper and a year later became the Marketing Director of the Orillia Square Mall. Deborah ventured back into the “Radio Biz” in 1997 at Easy Rock 105.9 and earned her CRA Designation (Certified Radio Adviser) in sales, as well as doing some voice work on commercials. In 1999, she became the Founding Executive Director for the Orillia & Area Community Foundation, a charitable public foundation. Utilizing all of her resources and connections from her then ten years of volunteering within the community, she successfully launched the Foundation.
In October of 2005, Deborah became the Executive Officer of the Orillia & District Real Estate Board Inc. Since that time she has continued to volunteer locally. She also serves at a provincial and national level for the Ontario Real Estate Association, Canadian Real Estate Association and Association Executives’ Council. She is a proud recipient of the Orillia Business Women’s Association’s 2001 “Woman of Distinction” Award.

TAX ME, I’M CANADIAN
Linda Leatherdale, feisty financial commentator, known as the Great Defender of Main Street, has returned to her home town to give a presentation. She has forced politicians to rethink tax grabs and has fought for fairness for hard-working families, who account for two-thirds of our country’s health and wealth. Linda reminds leaders “One taxpayer, one pocket.” Linda began her journalism career in Orillia, where she worked as a reporter for the Orillia Packet & Times. She was Financial/Money Editor for the Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton Sun newspapers, Editor of Ontario Business Magazine, has written for numerous publications and has been on various TV and radio shows. She stages popular financial seminars and is author of Money Is A Girl’s Best Friend. Linda is now Vice-President, Marketing and Business Development for Cambria, a North American manufacturer of natural quartz surfaces and a family-owned, privately-held enterprise that is investing in new jobs in Canada.
